Customs Service launches digital version of preferential origin certificate
As reported by the press service of the department, from March 17, economic agents will be able to request a preferential origin certificate for goods exclusively in electronic form. This will be possible thanks to the pilot launch of the upgraded version of the SICOM module (Information System for Certificates of Origin of Goods) in the ASYCUDA World information system. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Digitalization of the Moldovan Customs Service project, which is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and implemented by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The updated version of the module will completely eliminate paper documents. Economic agents will no longer have to submit applications or supporting documents on paper; they can be processed electronically. At the same time, the customs authority will interact with operators exclusively through the exchange of messages in the information system, and any request for additional information can be made promptly, online. Thanks to the digitalization of the process, the processing time of applications will be significantly reduced, and the procedures will become much more transparent and efficient. For effective implementation, the CS has developed Technological Standards for the digitalization of the process of issuing preferential certificates of origin of goods. //13.03.2025 — InfoMarket.
