46 Moldovan wine companies will take part in the most prestigious international exhibition of wines and spirits ProWein in Germany

It will be held from March 16 to 18 in Dusseldorf. As reported by the National Bureau of Vine and Wine (NBVW), Moldovan winemakers will be represented at this exhibition under the auspices of the country's wine brand "Wine of Moldova". The ProWein exhibition is a strategic platform for the wine industry, as it gives producers the opportunity to present their wines, establish new connections with professionals from around the world and create partnerships with the aim of entering international markets. Director of the NBVW Stefan Iamandi noted that Moldovan wine and Moldovan winemakers continue to make a name for themselves on the world stage and collect dozens of medals that confirm their high quality and international recognition, and ProWein 2025 is a new opportunity to highlight the excellence and dedication of our winemakers. According to him, this year's exhibition is also a unique opportunity to invite connoisseurs to Chisinau for the 2025 World Congress of Vine and Wine, which will be an important moment for the visibility of our country on a global scale. More than 700 international experts, including winegrowers, oenologists and wine professionals, are expected to attend the event. This summer, Moldova will host the 46th World Congress of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the 23rd OIV General Assembly. Thus, from June 16 to 20, Chisinau will become the main tourist destination in Eastern Europe, attracting visitors from the largest wine regions in the world. The congress on the scientific theme "Plan for the Future of Vine and Wine: Embracing Sustainability, Strengthening Value, Encouraging Innovation" will focus on sustainable viticulture practices for resilient ecosystems, as well as issues related to innovative technologies in sustainable oenology. Business sustainability, safety and health will also be in the spotlight of the 46th congress. With a long tradition of winemaking, Moldova has become one of the most dynamic wine regions in Europe, and the sector has undergone significant transformation in recent years thanks to innovation. Moldova currently ranks 19th in the world in wine production, exporting 85% of its production to 70 countries. At the same time, over the past decade, Moldovan wine has won more than 7,000 prizes and medals at the most prestigious international competitions.// 12.03.2025 — InfoMarket
