Moldova is in favor of expanding trade with the EU and creating new development opportunities for its entrepreneurs - Dumitru Alaiba
Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization said that this was discussed during his meetings in Brussels with EU high-ranking officials, where the future of Moldova's economy, including as a potential part of the European economy, was discussed. As Dumitru Alaiba said, in particular, during his talks with the Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu and Nicolae Stefanuta, as well as with MEP Kai Tegethoff, the emphasis was laid, in particular, on Moldova's Growth Plan, which is to be adopted in the EU legislative forum. The substantial support provided by the Reform and Growth Facility was also highlighted during a meeting with the Director-General of the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG ENEST), Gert Jan Koopman. The Moldovan Minister said that his goal is “more trade and more opportunities for our entrepreneurs”, as well as participation in programs such as Roam like at Home, which will directly benefit the citizens of our country. “The EU is our main economic partner - more than 67% of Moldova's exports in 2024 went to European countries - and we want to reinforce this trend,” he told Dumitru Alaiba. The relevant message was also confirmed during meetings with the European Commission representatives from the leadership of the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development, Directorate General for Trade, etc. // 24.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
