The Moldovan authorities may refuse holding an auction for leasing commercial premises in the Duty Free zone of the Chisinau airport and transfer them to the management of the capital's airport administration

This was announced by Director General of the Public Property Agency Roman Cojuhari. He noted that the management team of the airport is doing a good job in managing it, it has achieved a good profit by the end of 2024, and now the possibility of managing the commercial premises of the airport is being analyzed in a very detailed and serious way, in order to get as much income as possible from the management of these premises and to develop the airport, not only in Chisinau, but also in Marculesti. “The team of the capital airport is very good at the actual management of the airport, we are sure that they will create a team that will be able to manage these spaces in order to get higher revenues to the state budget,” Director General of the Public Property Agency Roman Cojuhar said. According to him, this measure can be taken, among others, in the context of the expansion of the passenger terminal of the Chisinau airport. “After the expansion of the terminal, its premises will be reconstructed, modernized, including new premises. At least during this period, the airport team will manage them independently, report and monitor the results very closely. And subsequently, I am sure, if they manage to cope, this practice will be continued,” Roman Cojuhari concluded. // 06.02.2025 - InfoMarket
