
The volume of Moldovan exports to Romania in 2022 amounted to $1 billion 240.8 million, an increase of 48.9% compared to 2021.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of supplies of domestic goods to Romania in the total volume of Moldovan exports increased from 26.51% to 28.62% over the specified period. At the same time, the volume of imports from Romania in 2022, compared to the previous year, increased by 2 times - up to $1 billion 647.5 million, and its share in total Moldovan imports increased from 11.56% to 17.87%. As a result, the negative balance of trade between Moldova and Romania in 2022 amounted to $406.6 million, while a year earlier a positive balance of $3.54 million was registered. At the end of 2022, Romania was the largest trading partner of Moldova in terms of exports, purchasing the most Moldovan products in the specified period in monetary terms.
