
Exports of Moldovan goods to Russia in the first half of 2022 decreased relative to the same period of 2021 by 9% - to $116.9 million.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that, at the same time, the supply of Russian products to Moldova in the first 6 months of 2022 increased 1.8 times to $663.6 million, compared to the same period of the previous year. At the same time, the Russian Federation's share in the total volume of Moldovan exports fell during that period from 9.65% to 5.1%, and the share of imports rose from 11.49% to 15.27%. In January-June 2022 Russia ranked 6th among the major partners of Moldova by volume of purchase of Moldovan products (after Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, Italy and Germany) in value terms, but ranked 2nd by volume of supply of products to Moldova. Negative trade balance of Moldova with Russia in the first half of 2022 made $546.7 million, having increased by 2.2 times relative to the same period of 2021.
