
Imports to Moldova in January-November 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 32.4%, amounting to $6 billion 419.6 million.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, at the same time, traditionally, most goods were imported into the country by road - 84.3% of the total. Rail transport accounted for 4.6% of total imports, maritime transport 3.3%, air transport 2.4%, self-propelled imports 0.6%, mail 0.2%, and fixed transport installations (gas pipelines, power grids) - 4.6% of total imports. In particular, the volume of imports to Moldova of products from EU countries for 11 months in 2021, compared with the same period in 2020, increased by 28.4% - up to $2 billion 854.9 million, from the CIS countries - increased by 41.2% - up to $1 billion 670.2 million. Import of goods from other states increased by 31.3% - up to $1 billion 894.5 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan imports decreased from 45.85% to 44.47%, the CIS countries - increased from 24.39% to 26.02 %, and the share of other states increased from 29.75% to 29.51%. The TOP countries that accounted for the largest volumes of Moldovan imports in January-November 2021 included: Russia (14% of total imports), Romania (11.8%), China (11.6%), Ukraine ( 9.4%), Germany (7.7%), Turkey (7.5%), Italy (6.3%), Poland (3.7%), France (2.4%), Belarus (2%), Hungary (1.7%), Czech Republic (1.6%), USA (1.5%), Austria (1.4%), Spain (1.3%), Bulgaria (1.1%), the Netherlands (1%), Japan and the UK (0.9% each). At the same time, according to the NBS, for 11 months in 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, imports to Moldova from the following countries increased: from Russia increased (up 1.7 times), Romania (+33%), China (+29.5%), Turkey (+41.8% ), Ukraine (+26.7%), Italy (+30.3%), Germany (+20.5%), France (+42.3%), Poland (+20.9%), USA (in 1.6 times), Austria (1.6 times), Belarus (+26.3%), Hungary (+21.3%), Czech Republic (+22%), Greece (up 1.8 times), Bulgaria (+24.6%), the Netherlands (+26.9%), Great Britain (+31.1%), Spain (+18.5%), South Korea (+33.4%), Argentina (up 4.1 times), Japan (+22.4%), Belgium (+27.7%), Slovakia (+30%), Vietnam (+19.7%), Portugal (+32%), Turkmenistan (up 4.3 times), Taiwan (+34.7%), Sweden (+25.4%), Switzerland (+14.5%), Norway (1.6 times), Uzbekistan (1.6 times), Slovenia (+14.8%), Thailand (+38.3%), India (+9.2%), Latvia (+26.0%), Iran (2.6 times), Finland (+24.2 %), Denmark (+21.2%), Ecuador (+14.6%), Israel (+26.4%). At the same time, the volume of imports to Moldova from Kazakhstan (-75.7%), Serbia (-15.5%) and Azerbaijan (-67%) decreased.
