
Moldova’s trade deficit in January-September 2021 amounted to $2 billion 969.4 million, up 41.8% (+ $874.7 million) compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) informed that, in particular, in September 2021 Moldova's trade balance deficit amounted to $374.8 million, which is $36.1 million (10.7%) more than in the previous month, as well as $78.8 million (26.6%) higher than in September of the previous year. In general, for 9 months in 2021, relative to the same period of 2020, the trade deficit of Moldova with the EU countries increased 1.7 times - up to $1 billion 034.5 million, with the CIS countries - increased by 33.6% - up to $910.7 million, and with other states - increased by 27.6% - to $1 billion 024.2 million. According to the NBS, the largest trade deficit of Moldova in January-September 2021 was in trade with China: $587.7 million (+ 33.5% compared to the same period in 2020). At the same time, the deficit of the trade balance of Moldova with Russia for 9 months in 2021 amounted to $439.2 million (up 1.7 times, compared to the same period in 2020), with Ukraine - $410.4 million (+ 22.2%), with Germany - $216.4 million ( + 39.2%), with Turkey - $173 million (+ 17.9%), Italy - $171.4 million (up 1.8 times), Poland - $115.2 million (+ 44.3%), France - $104.7 million (up 1.6 times), Hungary - $62.4 million (+ 9.1%), Austria - $60 million (up 2.3 times), the USA - $59.5 million (up 2 times), Belarus - $51.3 million (up 1.6 times), Spain - $48.4 million (up 1.5 times), Japan - $46.3 million (+ 24.4%), Romania - $44.9 million (for the same period of 2020 there was a positive balance of $29.8 million), South Korea - $38.4 million (+ 30.4%), Vietnam - $36.5 million (+ 24.8%), India - $33.5 million (+ 14.5%), Holland - $25.04 million (up 3.3 times). // 06.12.2021 - InfoMarket
