
Moldovan exports in January-July 2021 reached $1 billion 572.5 million, up 15.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that, the export of domestic goods for 7 months in 2021 amounted to $1 billion 155.5 million (73.5% of the total), up 10.5% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the re-export of goods in January-July 2021 amounted to $417 million (26.5% of the total), which is 32.2% more than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, the re-export of goods after processing (clothing, shoes, shoe parts, armchairs, electrical wiring and cables, other products for the automotive industry, peeled nuts, chairs and other furniture, suitcases, textiles, toys, etc.) accounted for 18.1% of total exports, while classic re-export of foreign goods (medicines, cigarettes, wine distillates, whiskey, gin, vodka, liqueurs, beer, fuel, textiles, knitwear, essential oils, perfumes and cosmetics, vehicles, furniture, etc.) - 8.4 %. According to the NBS, for the export of goods abroad in this period, motor transport was most often used - 91.4% of the total volume, followed by sea transport - 6.1%, rail - 1.3%, air - 1.1% as well as postal items - 0.1%. In general, Moldovan exports to the EU countries in January-July 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 15.4% - to $1 billion 009.9 million, to the CIS countries - increased by 10.2% - to $243.4 million, and to other countries - increased by 20.5% - to $319.1 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan exports for the specified period decreased from 64.31% to 64.22%, the share of CIS countries decreased from 16.22% to 15.48%, while the share of other countries increased from 19.46% to 20.30%. According to the NBS, for 7 months in 2021, the main countries of destination for Moldovan exports were: Romania (27.9% of total Moldovan exports), Germany (9.9%), Russia (9.5%), Turkey (8.6%), Italy (7.6%), Poland (3.8%), Czech Republic (3.2%), Ukraine (2.8%), Belarus (2.2%), Great Britain (2.1%), Switzerland (1.7 %), Hungary (1.5%), Bulgaria and Holland (1.4% each), France (1.3%), Spain (1.2%), Portugal and Greece (1% each), Lebanon (0.9%). At the same time, in January-July 2021, relative to the same period of 2020, Moldova increased exports to Romania (+ 22.9%), Turkey (+ 39.8%), Germany (+ 27.7%) , Russia (+ 9.1%), UAE (30.9 times), Hungary (2 times), Great Britain (+ 49.6%), Ukraine (+ 29.4%), Belgium (2.2 times), Portugal (1.8 times), Poland (+ 11.7%), Lebanon (1.5 times), Israel (2.7 times), Czech Republic (+ 7%), Slovakia (+44.6%), Uzbekistan (2.3 times), Libya (131.7 times), Egypt (11.6 times), Canada (1.6 times), China (+ 27.8%), Holland (+ 4.8%), Nigeria (2.4 times), Chile (22.9 times), Georgia (+ 7.3%), Austria (+ 7.5%), Bulgaria (+3.4%), Japan (+ 49.7%). At the same time, during the specified period, Moldova reduced exports to Switzerland (-34.5%), Greece (-32.7%), Italy (-4.3%), Cyprus (-52.6%), in Spain (-14.5%), Indonesia (-66.5%), Belarus (-7.6%), Jordan (-74.9%), USA (-12.8%), Estonia (-54% ), Malaysia (-65.9%), South Africa (-61.2%), Iraq (-18%), Morocco (-87.2%). In the structure of exports for 7 months in 2021, about 90.8% of the total Moldovan exports accounted for six product groups in general: machinery and equipment for transport (25.2%); various industrial products (21.9%); food products and live animals (18.3%); non-food raw materials (9.7%); industrial goods (8.8%), beverages and tobacco (7.4%). // 15.09.2021 – InfoMarket
