
Export of Moldovan goods to Russia increased in Q1 2021 by 3.8% - to $128.5 million compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, at the same time, the supply of Russian products to Moldova for 6 months in 2021 increased by 26.9% - to $375.1 million versus the same period of the previous year. At the same time, the share of the Russian Federation in the total volume of Moldovan exports decreased over the specified period from 10.58% to 9.65% and in imports it decreased from 12.35% to 11.49%. According to the results of January-June 2021, Russia ranked 3rd in the list of the largest partners of Moldova in terms of purchases of Moldovan products (after Romania and Germany), as well as 3rd in terms of supplies of products to the Republic of Moldova (after Romania and China). Moldova’s negative trade balance with Russia in the first 6 months of2021 reached $246.6 million, up 43.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
