
Moldova and Uzbekistan are considering the possibilities of expanding cooperation.
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, this was discussed at the meeting of the vice-chairman of the institution Mihai Bilba with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Rasulov Bobur. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of enhancing cooperation in various areas: bilateral trade, attracting investments, increasing the attractiveness of both states among the Moldovan and Uzbek business environment, etc. Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova and Uzbek partners is extremely limited. In recent years, there have been no bilateral trade and economic events. To date, communication takes place on the platform of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS countries. The volume of foreign trade (excluding the commercial activities of economic agents from Transnistria) in 2020 compared to 2019 increased by 6.79%. The trade balance in 2020 was in favor of Uzbekistan and amounted to $ 2 million 629 thousand. Export of goods from Moldova to Uzbekistan amounted to $ 4 million 855 thousand, which is 35.59% more than in 2019.
