In particular, the import of goods from the group "food products and live animals" in the first 5 months of 2021 in value terms amounted to $319.6 million, up 17.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the export of similar Moldovan products in January-May 2021 amounted to $192.4 million, down 32.6%. Analysis shows that for 5 months in 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year, the import of vegetables and fruits into the country increased by 10.5% - to $88 million. Imports of grain and products from them increased by 8.6% - to $48.9 million, and various food products and preparations - increased by 28.7% - up to $40.4 million. Dairy products and poultry eggs in January-May 2021 were imported to Moldova for more than $36.5 million, which is 11.3% more than in the same period a year earlier. Imports of products from the category "fish, crustaceans, mollusks and aquatic invertebrates" increased by 29.8% to $28.6 million. Imports of coffee, tea, cocoa, spices and their substitutes increased by 24.4% to $24.7 million. Imports of meat and meat products increased by 49.6% - to $21.96 million, and animal feed - by 34.6% - to $20.07 million.
