Moldova increases agricultural exports to the European Union and advocates for further expansion of access of its agricultural products to EU markets

This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea at a meeting with the European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski and the EU Ambassador to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks, during which important aspects of the development of the agricultural sector of Moldova were discussed. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the topic of the meeting concerned the European integration of our country, a process that involves the adaptation of national legislation to the norms and standards of the European Union. Vladimir Bolea emphasized the importance of compliance with European standards and the need for joint efforts to ensure an effective and sustainable transition. He also stated that in order to ensure effective integration into the European Union, it is necessary to create a system of support for farmers that would not only contribute to their compliance with European standards, but also enhance their competitiveness in the European market. The agenda of the meeting also included a discussion of the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture to create a Solidarity and Agricultural Development Fund. Vladimir Bolea informed about the numerous problems that Moldovan farmers have faced due to severe weather events in recent years, noting that the agricultural sector needs support, which includes both financial assistance and the provision of resources such as fertilizers, diesel fuel or planting material. Another important aspect touched upon during the meeting was the importance of expanding the access of Moldovan agricultural products to European markets. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the fact that Moldova has been steadily increasing its agricultural exports, and that greater integration into the European market will open up new commercial opportunities for Moldovan farmers. In conclusion, Vladimir Bolea thanked the European Commissioner for the support provided to Moldova in the process of harmonizing agricultural policies, reaffirming the country's desire to become a reliable partner in the European agricultural sector.// 04.10.2024 — InfoMarket
