The document regulates the procedure of providing financial assistance to farmers from the 100 million lei allocated by the government from the intervention fund. In particular, it stipulates the procedure of calculating and granting financial assistance meant to compensate losses incurred on corn and wheat crops, as well as the eligibility criteria and administrative procedures needed to receive this assistance. Financial assistance shall be granted if, according to the acts of ascertainment, at least 60% of the maize crop and at least 70% of the wheat crop have been affected by drought and heat. The maximum amount of assistance cannot exceed 500 thousand lei per 1 applicant, and the maximum amount of total financial assistance per 1 applicant is set within 1 million lei, including assistance received for partial compensation of damage caused by natural disasters in 2023. Agricultural lands located within irrigation systems, insured by state subsidies will not be eligible for assistance. Potential beneficiaries must have certificates of damage caused by natural disasters in 2024, have a bank account in national currency, provide the 4-AGR statistical report “Results of sowing for harvest” - on its basis the eligible area will be calculated.
