
Farmers in Moldova affected by severe drought will receive free wheat seeds purchased with FAO funds
This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea, noting that the money for the purchase of this seed material will be provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) from funds intended for other projects in Moldova. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture specified that this year the money that FAO usually distributed for various other types of activities will be redirected at the request of the agricultural department to purchase about 400 thousand tons of seed material - wheat seeds. At the same time, assistance will be received by farmers whose losses due to drought exceeded 70% and who submitted documents on drought and losses and are registered in the registers of the Ministry of Agriculture.
