Purcari Wineries PLC's revenue in the first half of 2023 increased by 30% year-on-year to RON 161.4 million, net profit by 43% to RON 25.54 million.

According to the report of the company, whose shares are listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the group grew by 30% for the second consecutive quarter, ensuring an increase in profitability: EBITDA in the first half of the year increased by 28%. It is emphasized that for all indicators, the H1 results were at or above the forecasts announced for the full year 2023: revenue growth of 18-22%, EBITDA margin of 22-26% and net profit margin of 12-16%. "We are pleased to see strong revenue growth of 30% for the second consecutive quarter. We also see good prospects for margin improvement from H2. Overall, we believe we are in a strong position to grow market share amidst general economic weakness across the globe. Our positioning in the affordable luxury segment once again demonstrates our resilience, which is encouraging," said Victor Bostan, CEO of Purcari Wineries PCL. By market, the revenue growth in Romania amounted to 40%, in Moldova - 11%. It is emphasized that in many markets, particularly in Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Purcari prioritizes profitability and margins over sales volumes. In Moldova in particular, prices are being raised to offset inflationary pressures. It is noted that in China the prospects for economic recovery have not materialized and the company's managers are focusing on marketing and promotion; in Ukraine there is growth compared to the first half of 2022, but the figures are lower than in the pre-war first half of 2021. The company is focusing on retaining the team and expanding the geography of distribution through a partnership with Coca-Cola Beverages Ucraina. Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited (with brands: Purcari, Crama Ceptura, Bostavan, Bardar, Domeniile Cuza and Angel's Estate) is one of the largest wine and brandy groups in Central and Eastern Europe. The group manages approximately 1450 hectares of vineyards and has 7 production platforms in Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria. Purcari Wineries is the leader in the premium wine segment in Romania with a share of about 25%, as well as the largest wine exporter in Moldova, supplying wine to more than 40 countries. //25.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
