Landowners who are in the service area of a working centralized irrigation system, but are not members of an irrigation water users association, will have to pay annually for the maintenance of irrigation infrastructure.
The government has approved amendments to some regulations aimed at solving the problems of farmers related to the maintenance and operation of centralized irrigation systems, as well as eliminating the problems of livestock breeders regarding the use of farmland and the way pastures and hayfields are used. The approval of the changes will ensure the maintenance and operation of centralized irrigation systems, and in the future - the development of the hydromelioration industry. Amendments to the Land Code and the Law on Animal Husbandry have also been approved. They provide that agricultural land (including the territories of cities and the reserve fund), namely pastures and hayfields, can be leased by local public authorities at auctions only to livestock breeders. At the same time, they will be required to annually carry out work on the maintenance and improvement of the land. For violation of the mode of operation of pastures and hayfields, the project provides for sanctions. // 21.08.2023 — InfoMarket
