
Applications for direct payments in the livestock sector will be accepted starting August 17
This is stipulated by an order of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry published in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). This is the first call for applications for direct payments in the livestock sector. Specifically, applications for direct payments per head of animal (cattle, sheep, goats, horses) can be submitted from August 17 to September 30, 2023. Applications for the second sub-measure - per kilogram of production - will be accepted from August 17 to September 15 this year, and payments will be made per kilogram of cow's milk. According to the ministry's order, 150 million lei have been allocated for direct payments in the livestock sector within the first appeal. Let us remind that this week, the Regulation on the provision of direct payments in the livestock sector from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development was published. The direct payment in the livestock sector is provided per head of animal and per kilogram of production and is paid to the owners of cattle, sheep, goats and horses. The amount of payments is set depending on the support measure, within the approved limits (from 400 lei per young ewe older than 3 months to 5 thousand lei for mares and stallions or heifers older than 12 months and from 3 to 25 lei per kilogram of meat and dairy products and up to 7 thousand lei per kilogram of fish material).
