USAID will provide grants to diversify Moldovan wine export markets under a program with a total budget of 13 million lei.
The United States Agency for International Development announced the launch of the Moldova Wine Export Support Activity (WESA) to support Moldovan winemakers in diversifying export markets, sustaining growth and strengthening the position of Moldovan wine in the world. The proposed grants are designed to support and consolidate the "revolution" and significant progress made by the Moldovan wine industry over the last 10 years. The grant program, with a budget of 13 million lei, is part of USAID's Moldova Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity. It aims to stimulate sales and diversification of quality wine exports by facilitating access to non-traditional, high value-added markets. By supporting marketing and promotional activities, USAID wants to create a positive image of Moldovan wine in these markets. Moldovan wine exporters can apply for a grant of up to 1 million lei per company, depending on the business category. Eligibility criteria, project selection and evaluation will be taken into account during the competition. USAID estimates that about 20 wine companies will receive grant financial support. The official launch of the Grant Program will take place on July 20, 2023 at Mediacor. Dossiers for the Grant Program will be submitted in three stages: Stage 1 by July 31 (5:00 pm); Stage 2 by September 29 (5:00 pm); Stage 3 by November 30 (5:00 pm). The initiative is implemented in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova and the National of Vine and Wine Office. //19.07.2023 - InfoMarket.
