The next DeVin&DeGust festival will take place in the center of Chisinau on June 3-4.
The event will take place on the Eugen Doga pedestrian street and will feature wines from protected geographical indication regions, as well as the gastronomic, tourist and cultural potential typical of these regions. The DeVin&DeGust festival is organized by the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, vine and wine associations Codru, Ștefan Vodă and Valul lui Traian together with the strategic partner USAID in Moldova within the framework of the Rural Competitiveness and Sustainability project. Acting Director of the National Bureau of Vine and Wine Elizaveta Breahna noted that DeVin&DeGust is an event that is held to familiarize and explain to visitors the value, significance and uniqueness of PGI (protected geographical indication) wines with different characteristics. “Protected geographical indications and appellations of origin are a sign of quality and reflect the relationship of wines with the geographical region from which they originate, with the local terroir, traditions, customs and culture of this place. Together they add value, taste and quality to the final product. We encourage you to get to know these wines better by participating in the DeVin&DeGust festival, to get to know local producers and their stories, to evaluate their products and to take part in events to enrich your knowledge about Moldovan wines,” said Elizaveta Breahna. A Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is a quality mark that assures end users that a product originates from a specific wine growing area, is obtained from specific grape varieties and is produced in accordance with strict rules. This year, at least 25 wineries producing wines with protected geographical indications from 3 delimited regions of Moldova will take part in the DeVin&DeGust festival: Codru, Ștefan Vodă and Valul lui Traian. Guests will have the opportunity to get to know the specific history of the regions, as well as the stories of the people who produce PGI wines from the three regions. As part of the traditional School of Wine, master classes and tastings will be held under the guidance of certified sommeliers and tasters. Access to the event is free, and tickets for tastings offered at the winemakers' booths, as well as master classes at the School of Wine, can be purchased on site. // 26.05.2023 — InfoMarket.
