The Ministry of Agriculture is in favor of expanding the activities of the Romanian Commodity Exchange in Moldova and creating a platform for trading agricultural products.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea at a meeting in Bucharest with President of the Romanian Commodity Exchange Gabriel Purice. The Romanian Commodity Exchange is the oldest private operator of centralized commodity marketplaces in Romania. The topic of the discussions of the parties was the expansion of the Romanian Commodity Exchange's activities in Moldova, in the segment of agricultural products, in order to ensure the formation and strengthening of a competitive market. The role of the Romanian Commodity Exchange is to stabilize the prices of goods and raw materials during periods of fluctuation, ensuring a balance between supply and demand. BRM publishes information about market participants and trading volumes, as well as the prices at which many types of goods are sold and bought, including agricultural products. As previously reported, the first discussions on expanding the activities of the Romanian Commodity Exchange in Moldova and creating a platform for trading agricultural products were initiated earlier this week by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry with representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Moldova and with the Romanian Commodity Exchange's Executive Director Ion Lupulescu. // 19.05.2023 - InfoMarket.
