Moldova hopes to launch an ambitious EU support program for its agricultural sector, EU4Agriculture for Moldova, by 2025.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated the creation of a Mentoring Group for Moldova at the level of EU agriculture ministers. In particular, the agrarian ministry's initiative to create this mentoring group was discussed by Moldovan Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea during an online meeting with Moldovan ambassadors to the European Union. "The task of the mentoring group will be to facilitate the transfer of experience, advise and support the Ministry of Agriculture in the stages related to integration into the EU and harmonization of legislation in the agricultural segment. Based on the idea that we want to adopt the successful models of our EU colleagues, and avoid the mistakes made by them in the process of joining the European community, we are aware of the need to have partners, friends and mentors by our side. A mentoring group could also lobby at the level of European structures to voice our initiatives and messages," Vladimir Bolea said. He also said that our country aims at launching a large-scale support program EU4Agriculture for Moldova by 2025. A similar program has already been developed in other non-EU countries and is aimed at increasing investments in the agrifood sector and improving knowledge and skills of agricultural producers, value-chain participants through a broad provision of advisory services and economic opportunities in rural areas. //23.03.2023 - InfoMarket.
