41 wineries will present Moldovan wines at the world's most significant international wine exhibition ProWein in Düsseldorf from 19 to 21 March.

According to the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, in particular, they will present their products under the common wine brand of our country "Wines of Moldova" (Wine of Moldova/Vinul Moldovei). The ProWein exhibition in Düsseldorf will bring together tens of thousands of businessmen, thousands of stands of producers and wine regions to present wine products and report on the news and development trends of the global wine market. According to the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, this year the Moldovan wine industry will for the first time present the largest stand of the country in recent years, with an area of about 200 square meters, and a record number of winemakers to host connoisseurs and international experts in the field and celebrate together “10 years of wine revolution in Moldova” by launching the international campaign #10yearsofwinerevolution. As part of the official Prowein forum, on March 20, a round table dedicated to Moldovan wine will be held, moderated by renowned wine critic Robert Joseph (Great Britain). Moldovan winemakers at the event will be supported by State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Wine Industry Sergiu Gherciu, Moldovan Ambassador to Germany Aureliu Ciocoi, as well as representatives of the National Bureau of Vine and Wine, the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project. Elizaveta Breahnă, Acting Director General of National Bureau of Vine and Wine, noted that every year the quality and competitiveness of Moldovan wine increases. “Moldova ranks 20th among the largest wine exporters in the world, supplying its products to 70 countries. Our goal is to increase the share of exports of bottled wines, as well as to diversify and strengthen our position in high-value export markets,” said Elizaveta Breahnă. Diana Lazar, director of the wine industry and tourism of the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project in Moldova, noted that the reforms carried out in the wine industry are confirmed by thousands of medals, hundreds of international articles, modernization of the sector through the emergence of new small wineries, transitional wineries, new generation wineries and champion wine exporters. “The Wine of Moldova brand has become a real symbol of national pride, a point of attraction for tourists and an element of social cohesion,” she stressed. The Wine of Moldova brand was launched in December 2013 as a result of a large-scale structural reform of the wine industry focused on quality and value added, and focused on modernization and development in accordance with EU standards. // 16.03.2023 — InfoMarket.
