
Domestic agrarians need help in finalizing and evaluating their business model in order to promote their export offers - Vladimir Bolea.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry at a meeting with Floris van Eijk, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Moldova. The minister noted that the refinement of business models should be carried out through the prism of yield and quality standards. The sides also stressed the need to develop a more coherent strategic plan for the agri-food sector by reviewing intervention measures to stimulate productivity and competitiveness of the sector. Vladimir Bolea noted that the ministry is open to dialogue with both industry associations and development partners. The ministry also wants to harmonize all its initiatives with the existing model in most EU countries. In this context, Floris Van Eijk said that his country would consider appointing experts to analyze the agricultural sector of Moldova and offer practical solutions to meet the needs of agricultural producers. According to data from the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, our country exports mainly alcoholic beverages and grapes to the Netherlands. In 2021 the export of these products amounted to $6 million, which is about 9% more than in 2020. The only product of animal origin exported to the Netherlands is natural honey.
