Moldova has launched its first online platform for selling organic agri-food products https://www.biofood.md.
The platform has been created with the support of the Farmer-to-Farmer program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by CNFA Moldova, and launched by MOVCA (Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance). MOVCA Executive Director Victoria Ceban said that the online organic agri-food sales platform https://www.biofood.md was created at the request of MOVCA members to facilitate direct communication between producers and consumers of organic products. The platform currently features more than 100 products of cereals, fruits, vegetables, honey, hazelnuts, almonds, seeds, flour, medicinal and edible oils, herbal teas, soaps and more. "Orders can already be placed online at biofood.md, as well as on the Facebook page with the same name. The products are packaged in biodegradable bags, payment methods are varied, and a receipt is issued upon delivery," said Venedict Strisca, sales coordinator for the MOVCA Association. "Although we are focused on promoting Moldovan organic products in the foreign market, we want our fellow citizens and especially children to have access to quality and healthy food," said Spartac Chilat, co-founder and administrator of Prograin Organic Group. "The creation of this platform is in line with the mission of the Farmer-to-Farmer program in terms of promoting sustainable improvements in food security and in the processing, production and trade of agricultural products," said CNFA Moldova director Nadejda Mocanu. // 13.07.2022 - InfoMarket
