
Moldova has adopted a new Law on cattle breeding, stimulating investments in the sector and construction of new livestock farms.
In particular, the Parliament approved in the second reading the draft of a new Law on Animal Husbandry, which aims to bring it in line with EU regulations. The purpose of the draft law is to create conditions for sustainable development of the livestock industry and bring it in line with international standards, which will stimulate investment in the livestock industry, in particular the construction of cattle farms and the purchase of breeding animals. It is planned to stimulate investments in livestock farming to create conditions for sustainable development of the livestock industry, including increased productivity of animals, improving the quality and competitiveness of animal products, and facilitate its promotion in the domestic and foreign markets. The provisions of the bill are designed to ensure the preservation of the genetic background of native species of animals, as well as the organization and implementation of state control in livestock breeding. The bill was prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The authors of the bill predict that within 7-8 years the number of livestock enterprises in Moldova will increase by 50%, the volume of animal products - by 40-50% within 5 years, moreover, the prices of products of animal origin will go down. // 21.07.2022 - InfoMarket
