
During the state of emergency, Floarea-Soarelui will not increase the price of vegetable oil.
The general director of the enterprise, Stela Ostrovetchi, announced this at a joint working meeting organized by the Ministry of Agriculture with producers and exporters of cereals. The company made this decision due to the difficult situation in the region and the importance of showing solidarity. The Ministry of Agriculture calls on other producers to support the enterprise's initiative. Floarea Soarelui is an oil extraction plant in Balti, the largest enterprise in the oil and fat industry in Moldova, owned by the Trans-Oil Group. The majority shareholders of Floarea Soarelui JSC are Amableus Limited (49.761%) and Trezeme Limited (34.896%) registered in Cyprus, owned by Vaja Jhashi. The net profit of Floarea Soarelui in the first half of 2021 amounted to 79.77 million lei, an increase of 2.5 times compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, sales revenues of Floarea Soarelui decreased by 23.8% - from 910.45 million lei in January-June 2020 to 693.86 million lei in January-June 2021, and the cost of sales decreased by 29.7% - from 826.02 million to 580.86 million lei. In the first half of 2021, the enterprise processed 39.4 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, produced 17.1 thousand tons of vegetable oil and 15.3 thousand tons of meal. 4.1 thousand tons of refined sunflower oil were produced. About 5.2 thousand tons of sunflower oil were bottled in PET bottles. Approximately 80% of the total volume of sunflower oil produced was exported, and the remaining volumes were sold on the domestic market. The production capacity of the enterprise allows processing 300-330 thousand tons of sunflower per year. It should be noted that in 2020, Floarea Soarelui's losses amounted to 129 million lei against a profit of 4.65 million lei a year earlier, and sales for the year increased by 18.2% - from 1.7 billion to 2.01 billion lei. // 03.03.2022 - InfoMarket.
