The European Commission has started an audit of the control system in Moldova, which regulates the production of poultry meat and eggs intended for export to the EU.

The European Commission has started an audit of the control system in Moldova, which regulates the production of poultry meat and eggs intended for export to the EU.

This was reported by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA). On the first day of the start of the audit, ANSA representatives spoke about the national control system and general requirements applied to the livestock sector, especially for the aforementioned products, as well as the main responsibilities of the body involved in official controls, information systems for managing control practices and other important issues. The audit mission will last until November 19, 2021 with the involvement of the agency's territorial divisions, official laboratories, as well as food operators. Earlier it was reported that Moldova will introduce European standards for the quality of poultry meat and eggs and their sale in order to obtain permission to export these products to the European Union.
