
Moldovan authorities to elaborate a new Strategy for the Development of the Livestock Sector.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Viorel Gherciu during a meeting with processors of animal products while he was asking them to submit their proposals for the development of this document. According to the industry department, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with business representatives in the field of animal products processing in order to discuss the problems arising in the process of activities in the milk, meat and honey processing industry, as well as to analyze the prerequisites for the development of subsectors, promotion of products to the foreign market and reduction of the VAT rate. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Association of Employers of the National Association of Milk and Dairy Producers Lapte, representatives of employers of meat processing enterprises, representatives of the Association of Exporters of Beekeeping Products, representatives of enterprises Sandriliona, Casa Albine. In turn, representatives of the honey production sector said that the industry is facing many challenges. Beekeepers noted that one of the problems is the detection of residues of plant protection products in beekeeping products, which creates obstacles for export. At the same time, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the restrictions imposed by the National Food Safety Agency on the issuance of the F2 form required for the sale of bee honey. Discussions also focused on amending the Regulation on the provision of subsidies and loans for the livestock sector. Following the meeting, Viorel Gherciu said that the revitalization of the livestock sector is one of the priorities of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, and asked the relevant specialized associations to formulate proposals for developing a new strategy. // 25.08.2021 - InfoMarket.
