AIPA approved the first applications for 5 million lei in direct payments for livestock.
According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, AIPA has thus fulfilled its commitment made last week to expedite the approval process for direct payments for livestock. Direct payment for an animal is provided only once a year to owners of cattle, sheep, and goats. Payments are issued for animals registered and kept at zootechnical farms located outside the village. This year, AIPA received 416 applications for direct payments for animals, of which 197 for cattle owners, 128 for sheep owners and 91 for goat owners. In addition, 322 owners of just one animal will also receive a direct payment. According to the Regulation on the provision of direct payments for livestock, three support measures are envisaged. In particular, owners of cattle registered in the State Register of Animals can receive direct payments for cows - from 5 thousand to 7 thousand lei; and the owners of sheep and goats - from 300 to 500 lei per head. For purebred animals of the breed operated on livestock breeding farms, for which livestock breeding farms have been certified and which are the subject of zootechnical registration, the amount of direct payment provided is increased by 50%. According to preliminary information from AIPA, direct payments will be allocated from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development for: 13 692 head of cattle (of which 3 356 heifers over 12 months old, 9 167 cows of specialized breeds for dairy and mixed production and 1 169 cows of specialized breeds for meat production); 27 967 sheep (of which 3 669 sheep are over 12 months old, 21 258 sheep of specialized breeds for dairy and mixed production and 3 040 sheep of specialized breeds for meat production); 10 774 goats (including 1 404 goats over 12 months old and 9 370 goats). In 2021, 80 million lei is planned for the provision of direct subsidies for livestock. // 17.08.2021 – InfoMarket
