According to the National Bureau of Statistics, more than 62.4% of the sown area in the country's farms (agricultural enterprises, peasant / farms, households) is occupied by cereals and legumes - 966.5 thousand hectares (+ 1.7% versus the situation by 1 July 2020). About 30.5% of the area is occupied by industrial crops - 471.4 thousand hectares (+ 3%). The smallest area is occupied by potatoes, field vegetables and melons (4.3%), while decreasing by 4% compared to last year - to 66.4 thousand hectares, as well as fodder crops (2.8%) - 43.2 thousand hectares, which is 1.3% less than as of July 1, 2020. It should be noted that this year farmers allocated 44.3% more area for autumn rapeseed (33 thousand hectares) and increased by 20.9% the area under autumn spring crops (64.9 thousand hectares), at the same time, the area for soybeans decreased by 19.5% (23.2 thousand hectares) and for corn for silage and green mass - by 23% (3.4 thousand hectares). The largest areas are allocated for corn - 518.1 thousand hectares (-5%), sunflower - 389.1 thousand hectares (+ 1.5%), spring wheat - 340.9 thousand lei (+ 11.8%); the share of these crops accounted for more than 80% of all sown areas of agricultural crops. // 28.07.2021 - InfoMarket
