Moldova and Iceland have signed an intergovernmental agreement on air services and will launch direct flights between the countries
The document was signed on Tuesday by Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Friðrik Jónsson, Ambassador of Iceland to Moldova based in Warsaw. The agreement establishes the legal framework for bilateral air services and includes provisions on aviation security, applicable taxes, and the recognition of airworthiness and competency certificates. The document also regulates the operating rights, designation, and authorization of airlines. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, the development of air services between the two countries will contribute to the expansion of the air transport market in Moldova and the diversification of destinations served from Chisinau Airport.
