Experts from Moldova and Romania assess the condition of Moldova's railways and rolling stock for the modernization of rail transport

As noted in a statement by the state-owned company Railways of Moldova (CFM), on October 21, mixed groups of railway industry specialists from CFM and Grup Feroviar Român (GFR) made working visits to CFM branches. The purpose of the visits was to assess the technical condition and identify the needs for the restoration of the Moldovan Railways' locomotive and rolling stock fleet, as well as to check the quality of restoration work on railway sections in the south of the country: Bender-Basarabeasca-Etulia-Giurgiulești. "Moldovan-Romanian cooperation in the field of rail transport is aimed at improving infrastructure and carrying out the necessary reforms to create favorable conditions for successful commercial activity. Among the common goals are the introduction of best practices in the field of railway transport modernization, as well as the opportunity to strengthen logistics ties between the two countries," CFM said in a statement. // 22.10.2025 – InfoMarket.
