The 83 km long R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul-Giurgiulesti road, which is being repaired with EBRD funds, is scheduled to be put into operation in early 2023.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu, who visited the road being restored in the context of participating in a government meeting in Cahul. In conversations with representatives of the project contractor, the Turkish company OZKA Inșaat A, he praised the progress of the road repair, which has improved since the last visit in August. The repair work is divided into two sections, and the progress is 22% in section I (Hincesti-Leova) and 27% in section II (Leova-Cantemir). At the same time, Andrei Spinu called on the road workers to mobilize and speed up the work in order to fulfill the obligation to put 83 km of this road into operation at the beginning of 2023. The total cost of this project is more than 56 million euros. The money was provided to the Moldovan government in the form of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
