ANTA urged cab passenger service providers to comply with legal requirements and warned of inspections.
The National Agency for Road Transport (ANTA) reported numerous recent complaints from cab service users. The agency reminded that, according to the Motor Vehicle Code, vehicles equipped with taximeters, which are in working order and registered with the State Tax Service, are allowed for cab transportation. Vehicles must be equipped with cab lamps in working condition, badges and inscriptions, and colored elements of the body. Also mandatory is the presence of the inscription "The consumer has the right not to pay for the fare if the cash receipt on paper and/or in electronic form is not issued and not delivered. Transportation operators must ensure: the ability to accurately identify the customer service operator of the cab service, model and registration number of the vehicle making the trip; technical connection with the taximeter to issue the customer a cash receipt on paper or in electronic form; the ability to connect directly or indirectly to the integrated Fiscal Gateway system of the State Tax Service; protection of registered data from unauthorized changes and security of processing of personal data. In addition, according to the Law on Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities, all cab operators are required to equip at least one car to transport persons with disabilities using a mobile chair. The refusal of the cab driver to transport a person with a disability and his or her mobility device is considered discrimination. The device is carried free of charge, at no extra charge. // 07.09.2022 - InfoMarket
