Chisinau International Airport has strengthened security measures, starting August 1.

Chisinau International Airport has strengthened security measures, starting August 1.

According to the Border Police, access to the airport territory will be provided only to the staff and passengers. Special separate corridors have been created for entering and exiting the airport and the waiting room has been fenced so that citizens waiting for a departure and arriving passengers do not cross each other. Access to the airport will be allowed upon presentation of a ticket or other travel document by the passenger. The first security control filter will be at the entrance to the airport, where hand luggage and luggage will be scanned. At the same time, cars will not be able to park in front of the airport - parking is allowed only in designated areas, after additional control and inspection of vehicles. Dog services specializing in the detection of banned and explosive substances will be involved in ensuring security at the airport, and police units will patrol the area around the airport every day and help to ensure safety. In connection with the new measures, Border Police urges citizens to arrive at the airport early enough to have time for all airport procedures. It is worth noting that since the beginning of July there have been more than 20 warnings about mines at Chisinau airport. // 01.08.2022 - InfoMarket
