Starting July 1, the fares for trolleybuses and buses in Chisinau, including those in the capital's suburbs, will be the same - 6 lei.
The new fares were announced by the Chisinau City Hall. The new rates are calculated according to a new methodology, approved this week by the Chisinau City Council and are meant to balance expenses for maintenance of the municipal public transport network. Passengers who use public transport will be able to purchase tickets on more advantageous conditions. A monthly pass will cost 234 lei, a three-month pass - 594 lei, and a six-month pass - 972 lei. Passes will also be unified for trolleybuses and buses, in Chisinau and its suburbs. Passes are sold at more than 40 points of sale, including trolleybus and bus depots. At the same time, the fare will be free for some categories of citizens (children up to 7 years old, pupils of classes 1-4, seniors, people with disabilities, civil servants, carabineers, holders of some state awards, war veterans, honorary citizens, victims of repression, and employees of some special services). At the same time, several categories of citizens will be able to buy tickets for travel at a reduced price (schoolchildren, students, employees of the education system, parents raising children in single-parent families, or parents with many children). The last time the prices for public transport in Chisinau were changed in 2009. The fares for public transport will rise to 6 lei starting July 1, depending on the distance in the suburbs. // 17.06.2022 - InfoMarket
