The Customs Service has identified special posts for the passage of vehicles without cargo through the Moldovan-Romanian border.
According to the press service of the institution, several internal orders were approved to regulate the movement of goods through customs posts located on the Moldovan-Romanian border and to execute the last order of the Emergency Situations Commission. Thus, during the state of emergency, vehicles without cargo, except for thermal/refrigerated vehicles, as well as trailers, semi-trailers and tankers, can cross the state border on the Moldovan-Romanian section of the border when leaving the country, as well as through international road customs posts in Costesti and Cahul. This decision was previously agreed upon with representatives of the International Association of Carriers and the Fruit Producers and Exporters Association. It is worth mentioning that this week the the Emergency Situations Commission approved a number of measures to streamline cross-border cargo transportation. The Director of the Customs Service is authorized to establish special customs posts and customs clearance procedures, depending on the category of goods and types of transport. At the same time, a shift work mode will be provided for certain customs posts. At the same time, the Customs Service together with the National Agency for Food Safety, the National Automobile Transport Agency and the Fruit Producers and Exporters Association agreed to develop a mechanism to facilitate and give priority to the export of perishable agricultural products (vegetables and fruits), as well as to establish rules for the transportation of these types of cargo across the state border. Also on the current agenda of talks between the Customs Service and the business community and other competent authorities are the presence of ANSA representatives at the customs posts in Costesti and Cahul and a dialogue on this issue with Romanian customs officers; regulation of traffic and parking near the customs posts in Leuseni, Sculeni, Giurgiulesti, etc. // 20.05.2022- InfoMarket.
