Moldova launches platform for reporting violations related to undeclared labor - lucrezlegal.md

The platform allows anyone working in Moldova to report violations they encounter at work. In this way, workers can turn to the authorities for help in protecting their rights. The complaint will be considered by the State Labor Inspectorate. Persons filing a petition enjoy confidentiality guaranteed by law throughout the process. At the same time, the personal data of the applicant and the content of the petition are not disclosed during inspections carried out at employers or in other circumstances. The State Labor Inspectorate noted that anonymous filing of a complaint is not possible: identification of the applicant is necessary to confirm the authenticity of the complaint, as well as to conduct an effective investigation and take appropriate response measures. The platform was developed and will be maintained by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection jointly with the State Labor Inspectorate and with the support of the International Labor Organization. According to statistics, approximately every fourth worker in Moldova works illegally, without an employment contract and without receiving an official salary, receiving money "in an envelope". This practice threatens the economic and social security of workers, and the lack of social protection and health insurance exposes vulnerable people to high risks. // 20.03.2025 — InfoMarket
