Moldovan citizens who are abroad for more than 183 days a year are not required to pay compulsory health insurance contributions, with a number of exceptions, - the National Health Insurance Company.
The National Health Insurance Company reminded that citizens who are abroad for less than 183 days a year (6 months) are required to pay an insurance premium. At the same time, the obligation to independently pay contributions to the compulsory health insurance fund applies to citizens who are abroad and are founders of an individual enterprise or farm in Moldova or have a license for entrepreneurial activity, even in the absence of income from this activity; persons who are registered in Moldova as engaged in independent activity in the field of retail trade, as well as lawyers, notaries and bailiffs registered in Moldova whose license has not been suspended, and mediators who have a valid certificate, even if they are outside the country. However, the National Health Insurance Company reminded that until March 31, all these citizens can purchase a policy with discounts in order to use reimbursed medical services or medicines. Payment can be made online through the MPay government electronic payment service. // 18.03.2025 — InfoMarket.
