Moldovan citizens will be provided with quality drinking water
In particular, this is stipulated by the amendments to the Law on Drinking Water Quality, passed by Government on the initiative of the Ministry of Health. The document was elaborated by the Ministry in order to protect the population's health by ensuring quality water. It provides for the updating of the list of indicators of drinking water quality, subject to testing, as well as the creation of a system for assessing and managing the risks of its pollution. As noted by the Ministry of Health, the risk management procedure was provided only for the water distribution system. At the same time, the amendments regulate the procedure for granting derogations to drinking water suppliers, establishes mechanisms and bodies responsible for their approval, as well as a list of indicators for which derogations are accepted, indicating maximum permissible concentration values. The National Agency for Public Health is the institution responsible for monitoring the quality of drinking water at the national level. // 19.03.2025 - InfoMarket.
