The Swiss government allocates a grant of 8.3 million Swiss francs to strengthen emergency medical care in Moldova, the Ministry of Health of Switzerland said
The Health Ministry announced this, noting that on Friday, the Ministry signed a memorandum of agreement with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on the first part of the project “Moldova: Continuity of care in case of catastrophic health events - Care4Living”. The document was signed by Health Minister Ala Nemerenco and the director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, Guido Beltrani. The aim of the project is to improve emergency and rehabilitation services for stroke patients, as well as for people with other diseases. This collaboration, with the support of international partners, aims to strengthen emergency medical care systems in Moldova and ensure equitable access to quality services. The project has 2 components: strengthening basic emergency services (implemented by the World Health Organization) and modernizing rehabilitation services (implemented by the World Bank). The Swiss Government is allocating a grant of 8.3 million Swiss francs to strengthen emergency medical services in Moldova. The project will be implemented until September 30, 2028. The Health Ministry said that Switzerland has played an important role in improving emergency medical care in Moldova, especially in equipping the national network of stroke centers. The new project aims to continue these efforts by integrating key components of two humanitarian projects to strengthen the capacity of the emergency service in case of mass casualty events in the situation of increased flow of refugees from Ukraine in 2022-2024. // 31.01.2025 - InfoMarket
