
Salaries of Moldova’s medical workers have been increased by 15%
This decision was approved by the government. It concerns the increase of salaries of medical workers who receive their salaries from the Funds of Mandatory Health Insurance from January 1, 2025. In order to ensure a competitive level of their salaries, the Cabinet of Ministers amended the Regulation on the remuneration of employees of public medical and sanitary institutions, included in the system of mandatory health insurance. The salary increase ranges from 700 to 3,000 lei, depending on the specialty, length of service and education level. For example, a family doctor with 10-20 years of work experience will receive 2,370 lei more, which will give him/her a monthly salary of 18,170 lei. At the same time, ambulance doctors with more than 10 years of experience will receive 1,930 lei more per month than before, while those who specialize in such fields as surgery, anesthesia or intensive care for more than 20 years will receive 2,520 lei more, with their monthly salary rising to 19.3 thousand lei. The salary increase will also affect the auxiliary staff of hospitals. Medical assistants with more than 10 years of work experience will receive 10750 lei per month, which is 1400 lei more than last year. The night work allowance will also be increased by 15%. Ambulance doctors will receive an additional 140 lei for each night shift, bringing the total amount to 1060 lei per shift. Anesthesiologists and reanimatologists in hospitals will receive a bonus for night duty in the amount of 1,320 lei, which is 170 lei more than last year. The Cabinet decision also stipulates that the salaries of surgical doctors, endoscopists, anesthesiologists and resuscitators working in district-level institutions will be equated to those of the national and municipal institutions.
