
The Moldovan Ministry of Finance announced the start of indexed sum payments to BEM depositors who submitted applications for registration until December 31, 2024
According to the Ministry of Finance, in this way, from January 27, persons born before 1991, inclusive, who did not receive indexed sums related to the first stage and/or the second stage in previous years, can receive their money. To receive this money, the beneficiary, his/her representative or heir must come to any office/agency of “Posta Moldovei” (Post of Moldova) with an identity document. The heir shall additionally present a death certificate and a notarized copy of the heir's certificate, and the representative - a power of attorney executed according to the legislation. In cases where cash deposits have been transferred to several heirs, the person requesting the indexed amount belonging to him or her shall submit an application for calculation of the indexed amount to be paid. Depositors born before 1991 inclusive, who have not yet applied for indexation, can do it in any office or agency of “Posta Moldovei”, having an identity document and savings books of accounts opened before January 1, 1992. 10 million lei is envisaged in the state budget for 2025 for the payment of indexed amounts of citizens' deposits in Banca de Economii. As InfoMarket reported earlier, at the first stage, the indexation of deposits of the population is made in the ratio of 1 ruble to 1 leu for the first thousand rubles for all accounts. The second stage of indexation of deposits provides for payments in the ratio of 2.5 rubles to 1 leu for accounts with a balance over 1 thousand rubles for one depositor. According to Banca de Economii, as of January 2, 1992, a total of 1 million 988.9 thousand accounts were registered in Moldova, and the amount of deposits on them amounted to 4 billion 137.3 million rubles.
