The base rate for calculating salaries of public sector employees in 2025 will increase from 2,100 to 2,200 lei (+4.8%)

This increase is provided for in the draft state budget for 2025, which the government approved at a meeting on Wednesday. For some categories of civil servants, for whom increased base rates are provided, the rate will also increase. For example, the rate applied to calculating salaries of civil servants who belong to pay classes from 1st to 25th; teachers, researchers, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, etc. has been increased from 2,300 to 2,500 lei. The rate of 3,600 lei is provided not only for the First Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister, Government Representative and Secretary General of the Government, but also for the heads of civil servants of the Cyber Incident and Crisis Response Department of the Cybersecurity Agency of Moldova. The highest basic salary will remain for judges of the Constitutional Court – 4,700 lei. As in the current year’s budget, a monthly budget supplement of 1,300 lei is established for public sector employees (except for the president, speaker, prime minister and deputies). Next year, as in this year, a monthly stipend of 3,000 lei is provided for interns participating in internships in the civil service.
