The National Art Museum of Moldova has opened an immersive exhibition "Art Comes Alive"
On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the museum, an immersive exhibition was organized, where 12 presented paintings "came to life" using augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. Thus, using AR technologies, 10 paintings by the founders of the Bessarabian School of Fine Arts were animated - Vladimir Ocușco, Dmitrii Sevastianov, August Bayer, Eugenia Maleşevschi, Ada Zevina, Igor Vieru, Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Mihail Grecu, Aurel David and Mihai Petric. These paintings were brought back to life by AR artists Capațîna and Anastasia Nicusin. And with the help of VR, in an immersive environment, you can now admire two paintings - "Autumn Day" by Mihail Grecu and "Friendship" by Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, which offer viewers the opportunity to "enter a reimagined artistic world and an enhanced sensory experience." The author of the virtual experience is artist Pavel Braila. The works are part of the museum's permanent collection, and the animated paintings can be viewed using the museum's tablets or a personal phone and the free Artivive application. The exhibition is organized within the framework of the Museums of the Future program under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Future Technologies (FTA) project, funded by USAID, Sweden and the United Kingdom, as well as the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience project in partnership with the Moldcell Foundation. It is worth noting that this is already the 10th immersive exhibition launched in 2024 as part of the Museums of the Future program. Other AR and VR exhibitions can be seen at national museums as well as 18 local museums across the country.// 28.11.2024 – InfoMarket.
