The Cabinet of Ministers approved an increase in the budget item for energy compensations by 111 million lei and will pay citizens compensations in the amount of 300 to 800 lei during the 2024-2025 heating season

As reported by the government press service, the Cabinet of Ministers made a corresponding decision on Wednesday, approving the Regulation on providing energy compensation in the form of a cash payment. According to the document, in the period from November 2024 to March 2025, this assistance will be provided only in the form of a cash payment. The amount can be received on a bank card or picked up at the post office. The government also approved the standards for the cost of energy during the cold season and the amount of minimum household expenses depending on the composition of the family and the type of energy used for heating. The amount of compensation will be calculated individually for each household. The calculation will not take into account the historical energy consumption of the applicant for the previous season, but only the approved standard for the cost of energy. The Cabinet of Ministers also approved an increase in the budget item for compensations by 111 million lei. "The Government will stand by the citizens and provide the necessary support in the context of rising prices and tariffs for natural gas. Today, we present the first adjustment of additional support for compensations," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean. To receive compensation, all household consumers must submit an application, regardless of whether they submitted it last year. This can be done online, on the platform compensatii.gov.md or through registrars. Applications can be submitted throughout the cold season, until the 25th of each month, but compensation will be paid starting from the month in which the application was submitted. // 04.12.2024 — InfoMarket // 04.12.2024 — InfoMarket
