7.2 thousand young people participated in the “Cultural Voucher” program during 2 years; 6.5 million lei were spent from the budget to ensure it
Such data were presented by the Culture Ministry on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of the program. Young people used their vouchers to buy books in the Librarius network, as well as to buy tickets for performances and concerts on the iTisket, Afisha and Aalto platforms. The books most often bought with the “cultural voucher” were The Art of Manipulation, Atomic Habits, Romanian language exam tests and geography textbooks. The most popular movie was Carbon. In addition, concerts of domestic performers, music festivals and theater premieres were in great demand. The Ministry of Culture added that simplification of the mechanism of receiving funds and expansion of the list of services can increase interest in the program and attract more young people to it. The “Cultural Voucher” national program was launched in November 2022 following the example of other European countries. The voucher is a “non-refundable digital ticket” worth 1,000 lei, with which its holders can attend concerts, theater performances or movies and buy books until the amount is spent. The money can be used during a year. The beneficiaries of the program are young people who have reached the age of 18 and have the digital signature required for authentication. It is noted that the Ministry of Culture is considering extending the program to pensioners as well. // 18.11.2024 - InfoMarket.
