In Moldova, compensation for travel, rent and services will be paid to young medical professionals working in rural areas and small towns.
This is provided for by the corresponding amendments to the Health Protection Law, which were approved by the government. According to the changes made, doctors, pharmacists and medical personnel with secondary education working in public medical and sanitary institutions of cities and villages (communes), with the exception of the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, who live outside the settlements in which they work, for the first time will receive compensation for travel expenses. At the same time, graduates of higher medical education (licentiate) and post-university education (residency), who will work for 5 years in institutions where they will be assigned by the Ministry of Health, are entitled to benefits, compensation for rental costs, and consumption of heat and electricity. Herewith, the list of recipients of benefits and compensation provided from the state budget included young professionals with a bachelor’s degree (optometrists, licensed general practitioners, x-ray technicians, etc.). They, like residency graduates, will receive an increased benefit in the first 5 years of activity. The measures approved by the government are aimed at attracting and retaining young specialists in the medical system, especially in rural areas and small towns where there is a significant shortage of personnel. // 05.06.2024 — InfoMarket.
