
Austria will provide Moldova with a grant of 2 million euros to implement a new support program for poverty reduction.
This was announced on his Facebook page by Labor and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu, who is on a working visit to Vienna from May 22 to 24. He said that in Vienna, he met his Austrian counterpart Johannes Rauch, with whom he discussed the possibilities of supporting the social protection system in Moldova. Alexei Buzu said that, within a new poverty reduction program, the Austrian government will provide a grant of 2 million euros. The grant will be used to elaborate measures to reduce and prevent poverty or to mitigate the negative socio-economic consequences of numerous crises for people suffering from poverty and vulnerable groups. Also, there will be planned measures for social inclusion, to promote independent life without discrimination for people with disabilities, measures to prevent and combat gender-based violence, measures to combat child poverty and promote children's health and well-being, measures for social protection of vulnerable and poor people and expansion of social protection systems, etc. The Minister thanked the Austrian government for the unconditional and constant support given to Moldova, for the excellent cooperation in the social field.
